(used topsters β for the images)doesn't hurt to look back on things i've played this year. i've tried to keep a list this time round cause i would always forget
new games
- Chicory: a delightful game with messages that hit close to home. i actually started the game a few months last year but only finished it in early jan
- ACNH: Happy Home Paradise DLC: i don't play animal crossing nearly as much compared to the lockdown days but i slowly played through the dlc. i was very hit and miss with designing rooms for villagers, the ending was cute though
- Royal Match: i rarely play any mobile games these days yet somehow i still have this installed and play it on and off. it's just a match 3 game
- Earthbound: i... unfortunately didn't get very far into the game, think i struggled against one of the early bosses and haven't gone back into playing it, but perhaps i'll pick it up again someday
- AA6: Turnabout Time Traveler DLC: finally bought this since the 3ds/wiiu stores were closing. even if i didn't enjoy AA5 and 6 as much as the older games, it still felt reminiscent seeing returning characters interacting with each other. the case itself was predictable, but not bad
- Spiritfarer: was gifted by a good friend of mine. i enjoyed the game for the most part but i did find myself drained towards the end to the point that i completed the main story but not the remaining characters
- Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania: won through a giveaway, and it happens to be my first super monkey ball game. i'm not the best at the game, but i enjoyed what i played
- π Lost Judgment: The Kaito Files DLC: this dlc was amazing, i adore mikiko and jun. if judgment 3 ever gets made made i wonder if they would try to do multiple protagonists like yakuza 4/5
- Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker: was nice and cute! i remember originally playing the game back in 2016 but never finished it until i used my wii u again this year
- Another Code - Two Memories: i... didn't enjoy it so much tbh, but i can see how this game influenced the hotel dusk games
- π Trauma Center - Under the Knife 2: finally got around to playing this game and boy it made me so nostalgic for the trauma center games. it's ridiculous yet fun (and hard enough that i had to swtich to easy on the final stage...). also it was fun to see scott in the credits
- To The Moon: i decided to check this game out so I could have context for the song "everything's alright", and i knew a lot of people cried to this it too. i didn't find myself into the game all that much... but i'm glad i played it at least
- π AI: THE SOMNIUM FILES - nirvanA Initiative: a game i was quite keen on for this year and it was just as entertaining as the first game! the story felt a little more all over the place but i liked the new characters and the dub was on point again
- Jump King: i bought this game on a sale. i still haven't finished it
- Hidden Folks, Toree 3D, Dogs Organized Neatly, Cats Organized Neatly: have grouped all these games together since they were part of itch.io packs, played them all to variating degrees but for the most part they were small, chill games
- π TOEM: i remember seeing this streamed from a stream and decided to get it cause it looked chill, and it was!
- Catherine: Full Body: as of right now i still haven't finished the game yet, and i've noticed i'm actually quite bad at the game haha
- π Melatonin: came across it by chance on twitter and i enjoy my rhythm games, this was short and sweet (going for perfects is torture though)
replayed games
- Ghost Trick: i don't remember what compelled me to replay the game but i still love it to bits, still an all-time fav of mine
- Trauma Center - Under the Knife: since i was gonna play the sequel i wanted to revisit the original game as well, still fun and stressful like the old times
- FFX Remaster: finally caved into buying the remaster on switch and it was nice to play this game again, still my fav ff game
- FFX-2 Remaster: i was hoping to go through this game in full again since i've only played it once but i stopped around chapter 2....
- Judgment: was gifted judgment on steam by a close friend of mine, and this also happened to the the first game i've streamed because it was a replay (although the idea of streaming it only came in a few chapters into the game).
- Hotel Dusk: Room 215: a game that i've streamed online in full, i'm still fond of this game too
- Hades: still tons of fun to play even now
there've been a few games that i never got around finishing or barely started which i could potentially visit in 2023
- Professor Layton and the Spectreβs Call
- Disco Elysium
