(used topsters ➚ for the images)it's that time of year again, let's look back on games i've played (yes i know it's still december but i'm getting this out earlier rather than later)
new games
- WarioWare: Smooth Moves: got a secondhand copy for cheap and it sure is a warioware game. i remember struggling on a number of games because i couldn't get the motions right... so i'm still biased for warioware touched as my fav warioware game
- 💖 Rhythm Heaven Fever: had this game for quite a while but never got around to playing it til this year, rhythm heaven games continue to be good fun (as long as you don't aim to get perfects)
- Final Fantasy XIV: finally started playing this game only to stop at some point and never return.... oops. but i did enjoy what i played. i just think MMOs are not for me
- Galaxy Garden: i came across this game by chance i feel like, quite cosy and chill
- 💖 Fire Emblem Engage: i was not expecting to buy this game but i ended up giving it a chance and enjoyed it quite a bit. it's not perfect but god i love the music and gameplay
- 💖 Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance: finally played the ike game, and enjoyed it
- Rhythm Thief & the Emperor's Treasure: this game had some very frustrating rhythm games in it which kinda dampened my experience with it, but i'm glad i finished playing it
- Pullblox World: i'm remembering now this was the year the 3ds/wii u eshop has closed down and i ended up purchasing all the pullblox games. i'm not great at puzzles but the game was cute
- Tower of Heaven: still love the ost of this game so much. and glad i was able to beat this difficult game
- 💖 Trauma Center: Second Opinion: found a reasonably priced secondhand copy so i bought it and played it in 3 streams. the wii controls suck but these games has always brought me joy and frustration
- Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn: didn't get too far in playing it as i was getting burnt out on fe games haha, but i do hope to finish it one day
- Fire Emblem Fates Revelation: another fe game that i'm hoping to finish before the year ends...
- 💖 We Love Katamari Reroll: i went in expecting to enjoy another fun katamari game and i was not disappointed. good music and fun
- 💖 Super Mario RPG: god what a charming game this was, and not overly hard or grindy either. platforming is kinda rough but bearable
- 💖 Ghost Trick (remaster): can't go wrong with ghost trick. managed to complete everything
- Toree 3D and Toree 2: short but cute 3d platforming games
- 💖 Astral Chain: another game i really enjoyed this year. platinumgames has a grip on me it seems
- Luna’s Fishing Garden: short but cute and cosy. there have been times i've browsed the eshop to find cheap indie games and this was one of the few which caught my eye
- 💖 Super Mario Bros Wonder: initially wasn't planning to buy the game right away but a few friends' streams later, i also bought the game. such a fun, refreshing mario game
- 💖 Like a Dragon Gaiden: RGG does it again, giving me good fun while punching me emotionally in the gut
- 💖 Super Mario RPG (switch): still playing through this remaster but enjoying it just as much as the original! and it feels like there's been a lot of quality of life changes to improve it too
- 💖 Soul of Sovereignty Prelude: i've always been a fan of gigi's work so i was keen to see her new story and boy oh boy, what a hell of a good start this was. soulsov real
- 💖 Trauma Team: finally got around to playing this and what a fun trauma center game! it had it's stressful/frustrating moments but overall it's a lot more easier compared to the older games

replayed games
- Yakuza: Like a Dragon: i initially played this to prep myself for infinite wealth but it's been almost a year and i've only reached halfway... so probably won't finish on time lol
- Fire Emblem: Blazing Blade: this year was my "let's play a bunch of fe games cause of fe engage". still love this game a lot
- The Wonderful 101: Remastered
- Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones
- Yoshi’s Story
- Mystic Messenger
- Otometeki Koi Kakumei Love Revo!!
- Final Fantasy X/X-2 Remaster: caved into replaying X again due to watching a friend play it for the first time, another game that's dear to me
games to look forward to in 2024
whether or not i'll end up playing all of them, we shall see... but i have a feeling infinite wealth will dominate a lot of my time 😂
