descending into the world of ys

i wasn't all that familiar with the ys series until i watched protonjon's stream of ys: the oath in felghana ➚, and found myself intrigued. so here begins me checking out more ys games?!

i know i could be playing the games in a particular order but since i started with felghana, i wanted to continue the same gameplay style. so as of right now my plan has been: felghana (ys 3) > napishtim (ys 6) > origin > ys 1 & 2, then figure out which 'tag team party system' game i want to dive into first haha. the games below have been ordered based on the story timeline for my own reference (been using digital emelas ➚ as a guide of sorts).

2. Ys I: Ancient Ys Vanished: Omen

planning to play this together with ys 2

3. Ys II: Ancient Ys Vanished: The Final Chapter
❌ not played
planning to play this together with ys 1

4. Ys X: Nordics
❌ not played
currently the demo just came out today! so been checking that out a bit. maybe i'll even start this after i finish ys origins, 1 and 2

5. Ys: Memories of Celceta (Ys IV)

6. Ys: The Oath in Felghana (Ys III)
✔️ have played
my first ys game, and i'll probably be biased towards it. the bosses make me want to cry in pain but i still enjoyed the game a fair bit. the ost is also really good?!

7. Ys V: Lost Kefin, Kingdom of Sand
❌ not played
apparently this game was never localised so who knows when or if i'll be able to play this??

8. Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana
❌ not played

9. Ys VI: The Ark of Napishtim
✔️ have played
my 2nd ys game that i finished very recently. was an easier time compared to felghana, at least playing on standard mode where i could actually heal in the middle of fights...
