reminiscing about ffx

for the longest time, ffx (and ffx-2) were the only final fantasy games i played and finished as a kid, and i have such a strong fondness for it. every time i see someone playing through it, especially if it's their first playthrough, i get the urge to revisit the game as well. yesterday was no different as connor has started streaming ffx, and to re-experience the cutscenes, the reactions, it's always such a thrill. the game still holds up well for being released back in 2001 (or rather 2002 in my case, as i had the PAL version). so for the longest time i had no idea the dark aeons didn't exist in the original game.
so lo and behold i went back to my latest ffx file, the same one that i've streamed ➚ through a while back. i didn't go through a lot of the post-game content even in past playthroughs since they were quite grindy. but i managed to upgrade yuna and auron's ultimate weapons, so playing with the break damage limit could be fun. let's see if i can unlock more weapons if i continue playing. one surprising thing for me while replaying this was that i had no clue the crest/sigil names were changed for characters in this version.
